Flight Duration:
The flights are about 20 minutes in duration and that is actual airborne time i.e. the time spent on the ground taxiing to and from the runway does not count. Experience has shown us that for someone unaccustomed to aerobatics, this is about as much as they can comfortably handle. However should you want a longer flight then this can be arranged with no problem, but to start off with we strongly suggest the normal flight to see how you go with it.
Formation:
If there is more than one passenger at the time of your flight then we can offer you some exposure to formation flying too. Please note that in the interests of your safety we do not do formation aerobatics with any of our passengers. Thus, in the case of formation we will take off in formation and fly to the aerobatic area to the north of Rosslyn. There we break formation to do the aerobatics individually after which we rejoin in formation to fly back to Swartkop Air Force Base.
Sight Seeing:
For the less adventurous passengers we offer a sight seeing flight to Hartebeestpoort Dam which is also about 20 minutes long and costs the same as the aerobatic flight.
Booking & Certificates:
We suggestion you book about a week or more in advance and payment may be made electronically beforehand or by cash on the day, whichever suits you best. We do have credit card facilities available if you prefer. All passengers will receive an A4 size certificate with his/her name on it as well as the pilot’s signature.
Gifts:
In the case of a birthday, Christmas, anniversary, etc., present we can also provide the giver of such a present as a flight in a Harvard, with a letter from the Harvard Club telling the person about their present, and which you may then place in an appropriate card.
Pricing:
Currently is it R1,800-00 per flip which include 20 minute airborne time and excludes the time taxiing on the airfield.
Finally, all our Harvards are formally declared National Aviation Heritage Items, registered with the South African Heritage Foundation in Cape Town. They belong in fact to the S.A. Air Force Museum and are all in original colour schemes of the period where they were operating at the time.
